Putting the "botch" back in bocce ball.

These balls looked and felt awesome when I ordered them as a gift and when they were unboxed. Unfortunately, after one game they were completely scratched up. Maybe this is the plight of all bocce balls - I'm no expert at the game - but it seems like they should have retained their shine and luster a bit longer. Other than that, though, they do their job admirably, and the carrying case has some redeeming value.

Recommended for the price

I played bocce at the beach for the first time a couple of months ago, and I was hooked. I went home and immediately did hours of research to find the best one for the price. This set won out in the end. So I played with this one and another Sportcraft (100 mm black / red) one, and the quality was there for both of them, but I am satisfied that I ordered this set because of the 4 colors and the slightly larger (109mm) size. Let me be brief --

Pros:
1) high quality material
2) weighted really nicely, nice size too
3) 4 colors, then each 2 bocce balls of the same color are differentiated by different markings, making it possible for up to 8 different people to play. I have needed 8 balls a couple of times, so this alone has made this set worth it.
4) Great pallino and measuring device

Cons:
1) cheap bag. I've seen better from cheaper sets at the store. The bag will not likely outlast the set.
2) Paint wear pretty quickly.
--Pro: who cares?! It adds character!

I enjoyed my set so much after the first few uses, that I ordered one from Amazon for my father's birthday. He loves it, and he will be able to play it with his grandkids which shows the versatility of this game.
Bonus tip: Free trial of Amazon prime got it to me next day with just a few bucks more. Well worth it!

LOVE this set!

i bought this set for my husband and we love it! we take it to the park to play with our friends for double dates. it's such fun! it's quite heavy to carry the 8 or so blocks to the park but it's worth it. the quality of the set and their carrying case is excellent.

Everything I thought it would be

I bought this for a family get together; I have five sons that are married. I was very pleased with the purchase because the set is very durable and everyone could play. My kids are already asking to borrow it, so I guess I know what I'm buying them for Christmas.
